Cheong Koon Hean is Chair of the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities as well as Professor of Practice in the Singapore University of Technology and Design. She is concurrently Chairman of the Centre for Liveable Cities (MND). She is also on the Board of Trustees of the National University of Singapore and serves on numerous advisory and expert panels in NUS and government agencies.

Prof Cheong was previously CEO of the Housing and Development Board (2010 – 2020), CEO of the Urban Redevelopment Authority (2004 – 2010) and concurrently the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of National Development from 2001 – 2016. She was a former Deputy President and current Council Member of the International Federation of Housing and Planning and a former global board trustee of the Urban Land Institute.
